Our family was visiting from the mainland for my son’s high school graduation. We booked this tour to celebrate my son and so they could experience the sand bar. The crew was funny, accommodating, patient, and kind. The musubis were the best we’ve ever had! The coffee was so delicious! From the moment we stepped on the boat to the moment we stepped off, the crew was exceptional! Thank you for making my family’s trip so memorable!

A great trip out to the sandbar. It is such an easy way to get into that gorgeous water and see the incredible mountains from that view point . We went on the morning trip so it would be a little cooler and less crowded. It was perfect. The staff was amazing- great guides, knew a lot about the area and were really open and professional. We saw a number of turtles and fish. The harbour was easy to get to and there was ample parking- but do get there a little early. Overall, just a lovey few hours on the water.

Honolulu locals, we headed out with Capt. Bruce's outfit with a group of out-of-town family friends, 8 in total, a second trip for some in my group.

Friendly, accommodating staff made us feel comfortable from the beginning. Safety was first all along, from clear directions, watchful lifeguarding and situational awareness. Boat was nice, clean and in good shape. There are seats in the sun and 2/3 boat is canopied. Get there first to secure your choice! Two bathroom options at the marina before/after trip. Little shop to buy BYOB alcohol, if you forgot--which IS allowed on the boat--and the shop has incidentals, snacks souvenirs and ice cream. A burger-type restaurant next door, too. Snacks, soft drinks provided by the boat were welcome, including SPAM musubi!

Fairly short ride the mile out to the world's largest salt-water sandbar. Outfit has a permanent float there that they maintain for equipment (SUPs and floaties and life vests). Their snorkling equipment is high-quality and sanitized. They have an organized way of storing your personal stuff; I never worried about losing my wallet, sunglasses or other belongings.

A strong swimmer, I had a bad snorkling experience last time while going out myself, but this experience brought me back to confidence and loving it. I would say 100% that most would feel comforatable doing this experience. There were newborns and small babies on board. There is great snorkeling, for we saw many (10) sea turtles on way out and snorkeling, lots of fish and reef. However, you don't have to snorkle but can chill on the boat (gorgeous scenery, including distance sets of Jurrasic Park and Lost) and awe-inspiringly powerful planes and helicopters operating at the US Marine base nearby.

The trip is unconstructed/flexible enough so even members of your own party can find their happy place.

We had some 75 yo + folks in our party that the guide took specific efforts to make snorking safe, comforble and fun, working directly with them. Same for a few folks who couldn't even swim! NOTE: some older party members needed extra care/assistance on the ladder up to the boat from the sandbar (entry from dock faily easy). Crew of three for about 25 guests felt apprropriate.

Weather was perfect, but can get windy and is rainier than Honolulu. Check weather if booking shorter notice.

A separate time we aimed to kayak to the bar. We didn't make it and got caught in a bit of a dramatic, scary nature event. That's it own thing, but highly recommend this Capt. Bruce trip.

The state park right next to tge harbor is nice, though with no beach, is a great place for a picnic

Bring out of towners HERE. Scenry at tge site--and on the trip there-- is gorgeous, unique and different from Waikiki and Honolu-based cruises.

Our family of four booked a 2nd tour excursion to snorkel along the sandbar. Captain Bruce confirmed by text a day or two before and sent any necessary reminders with information to remember prior to our excursion. Unfortunately, the weather started to look iffy the day before so Captain Bruce offered to either keep our reservation or cancel if we wanted. I asked if we could reschedule for another day and Captain Bruce was very accommodating. THEN, I get a text the day before saying there was a cancellation and we had an opportunity for a free upgrade to a private tour boat if we wanted. We did! Crystal was our guide and took us out to the best snorkeling area before the other tour boats descended on the sandbar. Communication was great, guide was knowledgeable and accommodating, boat was clean and in excellent condition. We had a wonderful time and I highly recommend Captain Bruce for any excursion.

I enjoyed my time with Captain Bruce tours. I booked it for my birthday celebration. The staff aboard was awesome. From the time we arrived til we departed. They provided an assortment of drinks and snacks and you are also welcomed to bringing your own. The ride out was smooth sailing. Once we arrived at the Sandbar there are a few water toys for you to enjoy. Paddle boards, floaties snorkel or if u wanna just swim thats fine too. My reccomendation is to book during the week as the sandbar is not as crowded. We will definently book another tour soon.

I grew up on Oahu and had never been to the sandbar. I may have seen one sea turtle my entire childhood. I now have kids of my own and want to share the magic of Hawaii with them and this tour delivered! We saw so many fish and at least 3 sea turtles. I'll think of this day fondly for the rest of my life and I hope this will be a happy moment in my kids' memories.

Traveling solo with 2 kids is stressful but the crew was helpful and made it fun for everyone. I highly recommend this for anyone and I would do this again next time we are in town.

My family had a great time on this excursion. I was worried they wouldn't have enough gear but they had more than enough and my daughter used the snorkel board the whole time and was able to see fish and turtles for herself easily. They also had a ton of snacks that my teen loved and munched on throughout trip. They also had coffee I enjoyed. We all got to see tons of turtles and fish. The captains were all nice and knowledgeable. Thank you! Esp. To the captain that couldn't talk due to a recent operation- he was so kind to my 5 year old and made her trip so much better by helping her. Mahalo!
