At Captain Bruce, we’re all about protecting the natural beauty that makes Hawaii so special. That’s why we were so excited to be a sponsor of the recent LeaLea Charity Run 5K, hosted by HIS.
This wasn’t just any race—all proceeds went to the Waikiki Aquarium, and the event wrapped up with a community beach cleanup. It’s a perfect example of “Malama Hawaii,” a Hawaiian value that means “to take care of and protect Hawaii.” As a company dedicated to showing visitors the magic of the islands, this mission truly spoke to us.
The event was a huge success, with about 400 local runners and tourists hitting Ala Moana Beach Park. Four of our own team members laced up their running shoes and joined in on the fun, enjoying a beautiful morning run with the community.
After the race, everyone celebrated with some iconic Hawaiian treats, including shave ice, malasadas, spam musubi, and more. Then, we all pitched in for the beach cleanup, doing our part to thank the islands for their incredible beauty.
