A Celebration Like No Other!
May in Hawaii isn’t just another month; it’s graduation season, a time when the islands come alive with unique celebrations unlike anywhere else. If you’ve ever heard of the Hawaiian tradition of giving leis, you’ll know it’s a big deal here. But during graduation, it reaches a whole new level!

Hawaiian lei makers are at their busiest, crafting not just flower leis, but incredibly creative ones too.

Graduates are showered with leis made of candy, money, inflatable rings, Spam cans, and more. It’s not uncommon to see them covered from neck to arms and even waist!
The post-graduation lei ceremony is a spectacle in itself. Courtyards and fields are filled with giant photo panels and banners of the graduates, decorated with balloons and lights. It’s a grand event where families and the entire community celebrate the graduates’ new beginnings.

Following the ceremony, families and friends gather for graduation parties filled with Hawaiian food and music, celebrating the graduates’ achievements and bidding them a fond farewell. Captain Bruce, a proud graduate of Kalani High School himself, sends his best wishes to all the graduates embarking on their new journeys.
And with summer just around the corner, what better way to celebrate than by joining one of Captain Bruce’s tours? Whether it’s the popular Sandbar tour, a private tour for up to six people, a double charter for up to twelve, or a catamaran charter for larger groups, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
