This is my second time experiencing the Kaneohe Sandbar with the Captain Bruce outfit. The sandbar itself is a wonder to behold. It\u2019s like a crystal clear, shallow, sandy pool in the middle of the ocean. You can float on a tube, try standup paddle board, or just swim and enjoy the beauty. Then you snorkel near the drop off and see a host of tropical fish and amazing sea turtles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now for the service. The captain and crew are friendly, well organized, accommodating and really take care of their customers. Jamie, one of the deck hands, recognized me from my first trip! The crew gives instructions in both English and Japanese.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The experience takes about 3 hours. It\u2019s a short boat ride to the sandbar where they anchor. You have about an hour to enjoy the sandbar then an hour to snorkel, then your return ride. They provide the snorkel, life vest, paddle boards and blow up tubes. For food they offer a spam musubi, fruit, snacks and drinks. The crew snorkels with the group to ensure safety and that everyone stays together. There is a bathroom on the boat and bins to keep your belongings dry. You need to bring your own towels and sunscreen. Shoes are not allowed on the boat, I assume for sanitary reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n

Bring a little cash for a well-deserved tip or you can use Venmo. We had a small underwater point-and-shoot camera that I attached to my life vest so I wouldn\u2019t drop it. I got amazing photos of the fish and turtles. I highly recommend if you can get a hold of one. I will be back again and again. The friends and family we brought on both trips said it was the best part of their vacation. I was born in Hawaii and return every year to be with family and this a must-do for me now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
