For a Beautiful Future of Hawaii: We Participated in the Earth Day Beach Cleanup!<\/h2>\n\n\n

Captain Bruce participated in an Earth Day beach cleanup event held on April 19, 2025, at Bellows Beach on Oahu\u2019s east coast. Organized by Sustainable Coastlines Hawai\u2018i (SCH)<\/a>, the event aimed to tackle issues like visible trash and the more challenging microplastics\u2014tiny plastic fragments embedded in the sand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteers were divided into three teams.<\/p>\n\n\n

Microplastic Removal Team: <\/h3>\n\n\n

Used sifters to separate microplastics from the sand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Large Debris Collection Team: <\/h3>\n\n\n

Collected larger items like bottles and abandoned waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Native Plant Restoration Team: <\/h3>\n\n\n

Planted indigenous Hawaiian plants to restore the coastal environment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
